Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council is a group of parishioners who serve in a consultative capacity to the pastor on pastoral plans and activities. The Pastoral Council consists of six at-large members selected through a discernment process and three members appointed by the pastor. Members serve as a representative body of the faithful whose focus is on the whole community. Its role is to give counsel, to understand, to reflect carefully and prayerfully, and to seek consensus.

Pastoral Council meetings are usually held on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in one of the classrooms. Agendas of the meetings are posted at the entrance of the church. Parishioners are welcomed to speak with the pastoral council during the time on the agenda called Parishioner’s forum. Names and phone numbers of Pastoral Council members are posted in the weekly Church bulletin. Please keep members of the Pastoral Council informed about any parish pastoral issues and concerns.

Parish Finance Council

The Parish Finance Council is a group of parishioners who serve in a consultative capacity to the pastor on financial and administrative matters. The Finance Council is aware of the parish’s finances, its needs and opportunities. Finance Council members are knowledgeable of the parish, and familiar with simple budgeting and financial review. Reports to the parishioners on the source and use of parish money are given regularly through the preparation of an annual budget. ACTS Movement   (Email: Info4acts@samc-kyle.org for posting a message on the ACTS Message Board OR login to use the Prayer Request Board.)

What is the ACTS movement? ACTS is our parish renewal program which brings parishioners closer to one another, but more importantly, closer to God. Attend an ACTS retreat at your next opportunity, you won't regret it as it may be the best retreat you've ever been on!

An ACTS retreat is designed to help people enter into a new or deeper relationship with our Lord and fellow parishioners. This is accomplished through ADORATION and daily prayer, the call to COMMUNITY as a member of the Body of Christ, and THEOLOGY in encouraging the study of scripture and our Catholic Faith. All of these emphasize and encourage the virtue of SERVICE to our Lord, our parish, and one another.

An ACTS retreat is a three-day and night Catholic lay retreat presented by fellow parishioners. The retreat begins on Thursday evening and ends the following Sunday at a Mass celebrated with the parish community. Retreats for men, women, and teens are given separately. The weekend allows people to experience God's love and joy. They return with a deeper love for each other and our Lord. It is a powerful community-building experience. The ACTS weekend brings people to a better understanding of God's love for them and develops the sharing of that love with others.

For more information on the ACTS Retreat and activities (member gatherings), please call the parish office at 512-268-5311.

Project Gabriel

Project Gabriel is the Good Samaritan approach toward helping pregnant women in need. The members of St. Anthony's parish see the birth of each baby as a fresh expression of God's unfailing love; and therefore, offer immediate and practical help to any woman facing a crisis pregnancy. Through the Gabriel Project, each mother receives love, care and both the spiritual and emotional support she needs.

The angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph of the house of David and the virgin's name was Mary. And when the angel had come to her he said. "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women." Luke 1:26-28

St. Anthony's faith community is invited to respond to the mother's needs by: becoming a Gabriel angel assisting women on a one-on-one basis; organizing fund raisers; donating baby items; praying.
